1.                  With this Report and Order (R&O), we adopt processing and service rules for the 17/24 GHz Broadcasting-Satellite Service (BSS).  This service will introduce a new generation of broadband services to the public, providing a mix of local and domestic video, audio, data, video-on-demand, and multi-media services to U.S. consumers.  In some cases, these services will complement existing Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) services.  Specifically, we adopt a first-come, first-served licensing procedure for the 17/24 GHz BSS, as well as various safeguards, reporting requirements, and licensee obligations.  We also adopt geographic service rules to require 17/24 GHz BSS licensees to provide service to Alaska and Hawaii as discussed herein.  In addition, we establish rules and requirements for orbital spacing, minimum antenna diameter, and antenna performance standards.  Also, we establish limits for uplink and downlink power levels to minimize the possibility of harmful interference.  Finally, we stipulate criteria to facilitate sharing in the 24 GHz and 17 GHz bands.  We also initiate a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM) to address technical issues related to potential interference unique to the reverse band operating environment.  By these actions, we facilitate the introduction of new and innovative services to consumers in the United States and promote increased competition among satellite and terrestrial services.

The Marvels of HDTV Technology: Enhancing the Viewing Experience for Customers

Television technology has come a long way since the first black and white television sets graced our homes back in the 1940s. Technology advancements have made it possible for us to enjoy crisp, clear and high-quality images right in the comfort of our homes. High Definition Television (HDTV) technology is one such innovation that has taken the viewing experience to a whole new level.

Today, watching TV is more immersive and engaging than ever before, thanks to the latest advancements in HDTV technology. HDTV technology has changed how we watch television, and providers have stepped up their game to deliver cutting-edge and exciting experiences to their viewers.

The Advancements in HDTV Technology

HDTV technology has evolved remarkably in the recent past, and manufacturers have come up with inventive ways to enhance the viewing experience for customers. The top advancements in HDTV technology that have transformed the television-watching experience include:

4K Ultra-High Definition Television

4K Ultra-High Definition Television doubles the resolution of 1080p HDTV to an impressive 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. The clarity and vivid colors of the images displayed on a 4K TV are breathtaking. 4K technology delivers more detail and depth, and the picture quality is four times that of a 1080p TV. Viewers can experience the feeling of being immersed in the scene, making them feel part of the action being displayed on screen.

High Dynamic Range (HDR)

High Dynamic Range (HDR) is a feature available on 4K Ultra-High Definition Television. HDR enhances the dynamic range of the TV, ensuring more vibrancy and contrast from bright whites to deep blacks. With HDR enabled content, the colors seem more natural, and there is more detail in the shadows, making the viewing experience of movies and streaming content more immersive.

Quantum Dot Technology

Quantum Dot Technology is an innovation that makes the image quality even better by improving color reproduction, and reducing light bleed. This provides OLED-like colors, deeper black, and more precise image quality, making TV viewing even more enthralling.

OLED Technology

OLED Technology is another technology receiving quite a bit of buzz in recent times. OLED stands for "Organic Light Emitting Diodes". OLED TVs feature self-emitting pixels, which help to provide the viewer with deep blacks capturing the smallest details that are typically lost on standard TVs. OLED technology provides exceptional picture quality, with accurate color reproduction and a stunning viewing experience.

The benefits of Subscribing to HDTV Cable Services

Subscribing to HDTV cable services allows customers to enjoy advanced visual and audio experiences. The Cable providers, such as Xfinity, Optimum, or Cox, are aware of the advancements in HDTV technology and are committed to bringing these experiences to their customers. Some of the benefits of subscribing to HDTV cable services include:

Access to the latest HDTV Technology Advancements

Cable providers keep up with the latest technology advancements in HDTV, and customers who subscribe to these services have access to the latest movies, television shows, and live events on their HDTV. Customers can watch their favorite shows and sports games in 4K resolution, allowing them to witness every detail and every moment with clarity.

Increased Viewing Options

HDTV cable services offer customers diverse viewing options. Customers can access On-Demand content, TV channels such as HBO, Showtime, and other premium channels not available via other providers, and can choose the packages that best fit their interests and budgetary constraints.

Better Audio Quality

HDTV cable services not only deliver high-quality picture displays, but they also provide advanced audio technology that enhances the customer's listening experience. Today, most cable TV channels come equipped with Dolby DigitalPlus, providing surround sound with superior audio quality.
